As I always point out I'm not much of a DJ but I love music and I love sharing music with people. I put together this little mixtape a while ago with a few rares, remixes and Premium Blend freestyles. Something to bump in you car!

Slangin 12" Dope: Aim feat. Diamond

This is a hot little 12" and one of my favorite DITC related records in a while. It's a record that doesn't seem to get much shine. Maybe because it's producer 'AIM' isn't strictly a hip hop producer but more an instrumentalist, or maybe it's because he doesn't reside in the good ol' US of A. Whatever the reason it doesn't really matter, this is a classic record don't sleep! Both mixes are hot and check for some other AIM collab's especially the track he has done with Q'n'C.

AIM - Feat Diamond D - The Omen 12"

Slangin 12" Dope: Freddie Foxxx

This 1994 release was released on Queen Latifa's Flavor Unit sub label. The title track 'So Tough' is a heater with Queen Latifa on the hook. The pick of the 12" is 'Crazy Like A Foxxx' a battle track where he lines up the Ultramagnetic MC's with name checks and threats of violence. No wonder Kool Keith left New York I'd run for my life too if someone with the rep of Bumpy Knuckles wasn't happy with me (just look at the album 12" cover, who's fucking with him). There are also 2 remixes of 'So Tough' on the 12" neither stand up to the original version but the Easy Moe Bee mix is worth a mention, just for the fact Moe B is one of the most underrated producers in Hip Hop history.

As usual with the 'Slangin 12" Dope' entries this is a full 12" rip.

Beat Of The Week: Grand Daddy IU - Mack Of The Year

Any regular reader of this site would know I am a huge fan of Grand Daddy IU's early work. Smooth Assassin is one of my all time favorite LP's, maybe it's nostalgia, memories of walking the streets as a kid with the album bumping in my walkman or just maybe Grand Daddy IU is one of the most under rated rappers in history (ok I'm clearly getting excited now).

Anyway enough ranting and on to the beat of the week. I stumbled across this on the world famous interweb on first listen I knew this was something that just had to be a part of my collection. It took a while but I finally found a copy at an online store, this 12" must have some pretty poor distro or nearly be sold out cause it wasn't the easiest hunt I have had for a record released so recently. So the Grand Daddy IU is in my collection now and he is in fine form. Unlike some mc's that come back after a long hiatus IU has stuck to the exact formula that made me a big fan to start with possibly the smoothest voice in rap history and soulful beats. The B Side 'Mack of the Year' is my pick on this 12" the Large Pro beat is a masterpiece. So enjoy this weeks little treat and hold tight for next weeks 'Beat of the Week'.

The Dead Zone

If anyone is actually still checking this site, you have probably been pretty dissappointed with the lack of content and updates lately.

Our apologies. Our server that we use to store stuff on mysteriously vanished and now we are trying to sort something else out.

Hopefully we'll have some space again soon.
